Balboaparkpinkorchids

Day 3 of our trip to San Diego was a beautiful day of walking around and visiting the museums and gardens at Balboa Park

Bob’s fly new hat served very well in the California sun.

Balboaparkclownfig

This is a Clown Fig. I wish these would grow in New England.

Me in the Japanese Friendship Garden. Had some great buckwheat soba noodle/ tofu soup at The Tea Pavillion.

San Diego Day 2: Anza Borrego

Still being on California time makes for productive evenings but rough mornings, so I’ll use this opportunity to share a couple of images from day two of the San Diego trip: Anza Borrego Desert State Reserve

It felt good to be out in the sun for a change, but it proved to be a little too much at once so early in the warm season. Minimal sunburn, but major headache from dehydration and forgetting the sunglasses. The sun is very bright in southern Cali.

Desert wear is not for the faint for fashion. Sun protection required.

08.02.13Hexcoasters
I recently added this set of 6 Hexagon Coasters to my Etsy shop. They’re the last product on which you’ll be able to get my bubbles print since I just retired it to make room in my collection for some great new patterns. Get your (extremely) limited edition (only two sets made!) linen and felt coasters while you can!

07.12.21Sale-1

So that I can spend Christmas enjoying family rather than working on my shop, I’ve posted my post-Christmas and Boxing Day (hello, Canada!) sales now. The folks over at Poppytalk Handmade (where I have a virtual street market table through the first week in January) have inspired me to learn more about the international holiday that is Boxing Day. After much web browsing, I’m still not quite sure what it’s about (read more here) but am excited to celebrate handmade by offering great deals to those who will be shopping for it. You can also see more of my sale items by clicking here.

Wallpaper for your desktop!

008

Well, I guess wall paper is in again. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think this is one trend I’m going to dive into. The wall paper in my dwelling is atrocious so if I were to change, it wouldn’t be for more wall paper! But what of patterns, beautiful patterns? Banish them forever? The thought brings pain. Solution: computer desktop wall paper! Farmidable, an awesome blog created by two illustrators: my husband Bob and our friend Zach, features FREE downloadable original desktop patterns. They (and occasionally I) design patterns so your computer can look great. Check out more of Farmidable’s desktop wallpapers here.
