Monday, March 16th, 2009Here’s a peek at a piece that will be exhibited at Worcester Art Museum during Art All-State 09 in May.
Made with felted wool, the individual forms initially reminded me of barnacles, but now look more like moss. I’d like to eventually make enough for a large wall installation.
Tara Donovan at the ICA
Monday, December 29th, 2008Skiing was not in the weather cards this weekend, so my brother, husband and I went to see Tara Donovan’s work at the ICA in Boston yesterday. I’ve been a big fan ever since Abbey pointed her work out to me a couple of years ago. She transforms simple, common materials and objects in to works that get even non-arty or museum-y people looking closely. The show closes this Sunday, but if you’re in the area of Boston before Jan 4th, check it out!
Home for the Holidays
Monday, December 29th, 2008The reason for so few (read: zero) posts these days is that my husband and I have been in a long (about 2 month) process of trying to close on our first house. In the meantime, our apartment has been rented so we had to pack up our home and studios to take temporary residence with my parents. Now my brother has been in town for Christmas so we are getting to enjoying an extended togethery time like we haven’t had since we were small. These shots are from around my parents house during last week snow storm.

Monday, June 30th, 2008New in My Shop
Monday, June 16th, 2008I’ve just put these new linen coasters in the front window of my Etsy Shop. I love the combination of the electric lemon yellow with linen. They would do nicely to show off your famous lemonade or a killer mojito!
New in My Shop…Quilted Coasters
Monday, April 28th, 2008I love how these turned out. I paired the Mosaic plant in bright, warm weather colors on Vineyard Green with my beloved yellow vintage printed tablecloth cotton. Yes, an actual vintage tablecloth; wonderfully soft but still durable since it comes from a time when more things were made well. Modern, handmade, and determined to save your table from icy-drink puddles. Hurry over to my shop to check them out before they’re gone!

San Diego: Day 6, the Last
Thursday, April 24th, 2008Our final day we picniced and walked along the beach at Torrey Pines State Reserve
We hiked a few of the shorter trails and even saw a rattlesnake that was too quick for my camera. For city folk like us, seeing a rattle snake in the wild is a big deal.
California poppies. I’ve since planted some seeds to have a colorful memory of our trip at home.
And what better way to end a week in California, than with some fish tacos they were on my San Diego to-do list so asked around and found out that Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill had the best in San Diego. I ‘ve never had them at a non-chain restaurant, so I have little to compare them too, but these were absolutely amazing! When you’re in San Diego you must eat some.

San Diego Day 5: Wild Animal Park
Sunday, April 20th, 2008A few of my favorite shots from San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park in Escondito:
We closed out the day with dinner and great Australian beer at The Bondi in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego.
