A new addition to my family of comfortable, beautiful and useful stuff. Beach Stones Quilted Coasters in my classic ivory on moss, but now backed with a great vintage brown and ivory cotton.

My vintage fabrics come from tablecloths, clothing and other textiles discovered in antique shops and grandmothers’ fabric baskets.  My grandmother’s house, for instance, is chock full of well-cared-for supplies yet to crafted into lovely things. Unfortunately, she’s had a lot of water in the basement this summer, which had needed constant tending to and cleaning until getting an expensive permanent pump this week. Fortunately, now though, my family and I and won’t have to constantly tend to the shop vac. In the clean-up process I scored some great trims and discovered an almost complete quilt in fantastic condition. Cold weather is coming, so perhaps I should finish it and let it serve its intended purpose!
