San Diego Day 1- Art and Food
Published April 11th, 2008 in Uncategorized.Yesterday Bob and I returned from a much needed and appreciated vacation in San Diego. We stayed with friends at UCSD (thanks so much Zach and Janel!) and filled our days with all the great things the San Diego area has to offer.
On the first day we walked around La Jolla to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art’s La Jolla location. The image above, from the museum’s web site, is of my favorite piece there. Erwin Redl’s MATRIX II is an amazing installation that invites the viewer interact with light and space. Vistors can walk in/through the 3-d grid of LED lights which is now in the museum’s collection. We ate a great lunch on Prospect St. at The Living Room and the flavor highlight of dinner at The Pizza Port was their very own California Honey Ale and Port’s Porter. I have to say, the San Diego area knows how to brew a good beer! More to come over the next couple of days.
